2. Charitable Purposes
The purposes of the Charity are for the public benefit:
- To provide a voice for survivors of cults, high control groups and coercively controlling organisations.
- To relieve the needs of survivors of cults, high-control groups, and coercively controlling organisations, particularly those experiencing psychological, social, emotional, or financial harm.
- To advance mental health and wellbeing by providing information, peer support resources, advocacy, and signposting to qualified mental health professionals and support services for survivors of cults and coercive control.
- To advance education and raise public awareness of survivor stories, coercive control, cult dynamics, and their psychological and societal impacts, including through training, research, campaigns, and public engagement.
- To promote and protect the rights of individuals affected by coercive control, including through advocacy, public engagement, public policy engagement, and collaboration with government bodies, law enforcement, and civil society organisations.
- To support survivors in accessing appropriate professional support, including recommending qualified practitioners and, where resources allow, providing financial assistance to help individuals obtain appropriate treatment or support services.
